Mother Nature...Large and in Charge!!!!!!!

My nephew, J.D. rolling the middle section to our snowman.
Rylee rolling the head.

Love that smile!

Rylee goofing around on the original base to the snowman.

The original base and I. I/we all rolled our pieces way to big.
They were to heavy to lift onto each other. Not even teamwork would help to lift
them up. So we used them as forts and had a half-hearted snowball fight.

Utah State Chariot Championship

Saturday February 27, 2010.
While Rylee, Mom and I were walking a 5K before heading up to the races...
Grandpa was pulled through the mud while helping Ron Robinson
warm up the second team he drove. I did not find this out until after all
the races were over and we were talking to him in the barn, waiting to load up
and head for the house.
Sunday February 28, 2010.
Had the driver of the other chariot in Grandpa's race turned
around or listened to the announcer,
this is the site he would have seen and/or heard.
  1. No Driver
  2. C.C. bearing down on his chariot.
  3. The announcer repeatedly telling him to look over his shoulder.
There was a runaway team behind him.

Back in the starting gate...C.C. did not start. Knockdown broke from the starting gate as planned. This caused the horses to twist and the chariot to dump Grandpa out onto the ground. And the horses to have a free run down the track. They were picked up nicely by the outriders, whose job it is to pick up runaways. The horses sustained no injuries.

The paramedics were called in.

Paramedic #1 to Grandpa, "Sir, do you know where you are?"
Grandpa, "Hell yeah, I'm on the ground!"

He's tough and we love him. But holy smoke...He scarred us!
Needless to say He did not place at the State level.

Saturdays races.

The weather was wonderful for most of the day. Grandpa lost to the Richards family again. Not even sure why they are having to race each other again. Neither is he. One more weekend of races here in Tooele County then it is on to Ogden for the State and World finals. We love those!
See you there! Or at least we hope too!!!!!

What would Rylee look like as a dragon?

Fw: Drama at the races!

The race right before Grandpas turned into an event that all in attendance worry about. Ron Robinson was left in the starting gate, while his team traveled the track without a driver. In the photos you can see him on the ground in the starting gate. His team went around the track safely. Right as they could have been grabbed by some of the heading crew they veered off, jumped the rail and headed through the infield part of the track. There they were flagged down at the other end of the infield by the opposite rail just as the Ron's buggy hit that rail and tipped over. Nate Critchlow was driving the other team and promptly got his under control so that the empty chariot had the right of way.

Shake-N-Bake...Cody!!!!!

Cody and his girlfriend, Candace.

The cake
The crew
The famous underware, just in case he thinks he's on fire.
A Shake-N-Bake from Dillon
Boys being boys!
Cody and his wedgie.
And of course my favorite girls.
Cody had the best night ever last night. His family threw him a surprise Talladega Nights 16th birthday party. He said he didn't have a clue.
I knew it was going to be a great party the day before when Rylee and I gave him his gift, that had finally came in the mail. A couple of t-shirts that had his favorite quotes on them... He jumped up and yelled, "I love you Gerri!"
Kerri had all the foods from the movie for the kids. The party was in the garage. She decorated in a race car theme and hung up signs all over the walls with quotes from the movie.
But the best and most memorable part of the night had to be when Hank said a prayer before it was time to eat. Now if you have seen the movie you know how Ricky Bobby prays to the infant baby Jesus or Jesus as his friends to the south call him! Where he thanks his smokin' hot wife. The stone cold fox! (Woo, woo!) It was priceless. Cody was laughing the whole time, along with all his friends. I operated the video and had the camera bouncing the whole time trying not to bust out laughing. You will have to call Hank and have him play his version for you it was a wonderful interpretation!!!!
Cody one day will realize how lucky he is to have such wonderful and loving parents.

A Mini-Anderson reunion.

Grandpa Anderson, who started this whole family,
shown here with his 2nd eldest son's kids.
Dad has been deceased now for over 10 years and look at us
still going strong in spite of his absence.
Aunt Lil and her family with us.
We made these plans to get together at Hillary's wedding.

Grandpa and Grandma Anderson. He'll be 90 this August.

He doesn't look any older than he did driving his boat at
Strawberry reservoir when we were little kids.

Cousin Tina and her family. Her husband will soon be fighting in Iraq.
He'll leave her right before the birth of their 2nd child.

Aunt Lil and my mom. She is the glue that keeps us all together.
I am thankful every day for her love, devotion and dedication to her family.
Glad that I moved back to Utah and Rylee is able to gather the
knowledge from her first hand!
